Originally from Ukraine, Maryna Lesko studied at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg. She was a ballet soloist in theaters in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. Maryna toured with the Russian theater in the USA, Australia and many countries in Europe and Asia.
Maryna's teaching career started in 2005. She was choreographer and ballet teacher in the Ukrainian national rhythmic gymnastics team from 2014 to 2017. Her team earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2018 Maryna relocated to New York where she continued her teaching career.
Maryna, with her extensive years of experience, has honed her ability to provide an individualized and personalized approach to each of her students. Recognizing that every dancer is unique, she tailors her instruction to meet the specific needs and aspirations of each individual under her guidance.
Drawing from her vast knowledge and expertise in ballet, Maryna is well-versed in various styles and techniques, including the classical ballet moves by Vaganova and the elegance of French ballet. Her deep understanding of these diverse styles enables her to impart a comprehensive understanding of the art form, allowing her students to explore and excel in a wide range of ballet styles.
Beyond imparting technical mastery, Maryna fosters a nurturing environment that encourages her students to push their boundaries and reach their full potential. She understands that ballet requires discipline, perseverance, and dedication, and she instills these values in her students, fostering a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Maryna's teaching approach goes beyond the confines of the studio. She is not only a mentor but also a source of inspiration, instilling in her students a deep love and appreciation for the art of ballet. She encourages them to attend performances, watch professional dancers, and immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of ballet. By exposing her students to the broader ballet community, Maryna cultivates a passion that extends far beyond the classroom, nurturing future generations of ballet enthusiasts and performers.
Khi’Shawn Robinson is a NYC-based dancer and choreographer originally from North Carolina. He holds a BFA in Classical Ballet from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (Class of ’22), and brings a dynamic blend of classical technique and contemporary artistry to his teaching.
His extensive training includes residencies and intensives with Charlotte Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Nashville Ballet, and the Commercial Dance Intensive. Khi’Shawn made his Broadway National Tour debut in On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, and was featured as “Duane” and understudy for “Seaweed J. Stubbs” in Royal Caribbean’s production of Hairspray!.
Most recently, he performed in Todrick Hall’s new musical Midnight, and appeared this summer at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine as Ensemble and understudy for “Nicely-Nicely Johnson” in Guys and Dolls.
